Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Finance, the Administrative Technician is responsible for all aspects of the administration of accounts payable.

  • Coordinate and verify the work of support staff and implement performance standards in this area;
  • Compile, verify and prepare various accounts payable lists and maintain an up-to-date statement of all accounts;
  • Implement policies and procedures set by management and communicate with staff and clients as regards establishing methods and performance standards to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy of issued accounts;
  • Reconcile vendors’ statements of account;
  • Manage vendors’ files;
  • Analyze accounts and reports;
  • Prepare and issue payments to suppliers;
  • Perform any other relevant duty as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College diploma (DEC) in Business Administration with an accounting major, or a diploma or attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the Board.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Familiarity with data processing systems;
  • Fluent in two of the Board’s three official languages (French, English, Inuktitut);
  • Five years’ experience in accounts payable and support staff work coordination.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the AENQ collective agreement for support staff / from $22.23 to $29.05 an hour depending on qualification and experience.
