Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director Human Resources, the Administration Technician performs various tasks related to the administration of the support staff, professionals, teachers and managerial staff’s files. Some responsibilities include:

  • Creating new employee files and ensuring that all pertinent documents and information have been received from the employee and from the school or respective departments of the School Board;
  • Establishing, in accordance with different collective agreements and Board policies, the remuneration of support staff, professionals and teachers staff, regional disparities, retention premium and other benefits to which the employee is eligible;
  • Administrating the reception and validation of employee’s declaration of dependents;
  • Evaluating the recognition of experience for professionals and teachers staff updating the files in the pay system and producing the seniority list;
  • Informing Payroll of any changes in an employee file including the notice of closure;
  • Administrating the maternity, paternity and parental leaves;
  • Maintaining and updating a variety of employee lists;
  • Answering any questions concerning the support staff’s professionals’ and teacher staff’s working conditions within their capacity;
  • Inform, assist and support, by telephone, on-line and in Nunavik, the Centre Directors and the secretaries of schools in the tasks achieved by this staff with regard to the needs for the management of the files of the human resources;
  • Performing any other related tasks as requested by immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College diploma (DEC) in Human Resources or a diploma or attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the Board.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Available to travel in Nunavik 1 or 2 weeks per school year;
  • Fluency in at least two of the working languages of the Board (Inuktitut, French, English);
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel;
  • Independent, strong organizational skills, motivated and performing under pressure;
  • Knowledge of the collective agreements;
  • In depth knowledge of the GRICS system is considered an asset;
  • Possibility of overtime at the beginning of the school year and during the travels in Nunavik.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the AENQ collective agreement for support staff / from $22.23 to $29.05 an hour depending on qualification and experience.

In addition to salary, you may be eligible to other benefits such as:

All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
